How do I search for a calculator?
Use the header Search button or the Ctrl K shortcut to jump to any calculator by typing what you want to work out.
Updated · Getting started
Open search from anywhere
Use the Search button in the header, or press Ctrl K (⌘ K on a Mac) on any page of the site. A search pop-up opens. Type what you want to calculate, such as EMI, BMI or cm to inch, and choose a result.
Search step by step
- Press Ctrl K (⌘ K on a Mac), or select Search in the header.
- Type what you want to calculate, in your own words.
- Look through the results and choose the one that matches.
- Enter your values on the calculator page that opens.
The answer appears as you enter values, so there is no separate calculate step to press.
Get better results
- Type the job you want done, such as “cm to inch” or “EMI”, rather than a long sentence.
- If the first words do not work, try another name for the same thing, or the name of the formula.
- Short names such as EMI or BMI are enough to start with.
Other ways to find things
- The Categories page lets you browse by category and sub-topic, and its My Calculators block lists your Favourites and Recently used calculators.
- The Blogs page has guides with formulas and worked examples, filter chips (Finance, Health, Math, Conversions, Everyday) and a search box.
- The Help centre has its own search box for help articles.
